TEAM/PLAYER NOTES:
After two weekends of conference play, Auburn (9-2-1, 3-1-0 SEC) finds itself in second place in the SEC West and tied with this upcoming Friday’s opponent, No. 9 Florida, for second overall in the league, three points behind LSU … Auburn’s win at Ole Miss last week had extended the team’s unbeaten streak to 10 straight, which marks the second-longest streak in school history, but it had the streak snapped in a 2-0 loss at Mississippi State on Sunday … The win in Oxford on Friday was Auburn’s first over Ole Miss in regular season play since 2004 and its first at Oxford since 2003 … Seven different players recorded points in the win over Ole Miss as Auburn now has 16 different players record at least one point on the season … Auburn’s 29 goals through 12 games is already only five fewer than what it scored last year and its 2.42 goals per game average puts it on pace to finish the regular season with 46 goals, which would be the second-most in program history … When Auburn travels to Gainesville, Fla., this weekend it will be in search of its first-ever back-to-back wins over Florida in the 16-match series history and its first-ever at Florida … Auburn will also be in search of its first win over South Carolina since 2008 and its first in Columbia since 2005.
